A Guide to Safe Practice during COVID-19

Processes put in place to protect you:

Public Health England (PHE) has issued strict guidance for the protection of people attending healthcare clinics. Clinic visits should aim to be “Touchless” and “Contactless” and for as short a duration as possible to minimize the risk of catching or spreading COVID-19.

Basically, this means that we try to do as much as possible remotely before you attend for treatment. There are stringent safety and cleaning regimens in the clinic. The actual clinic visit will only be for about 15 - 20 minutes, depending on your treatment. Below are more details – please read this leaflet carefully to minimize your risks:

Staff have:

  • Daily screening for symptoms and temperature

  • Twice weekly Lateral Flow Tests

  • Training on COVID-19 and Infection Prevention Control (IPC)

  • Appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) – including disposable Aprons, Gloves, Masks and Visors

  • Regular Audits of Cleanliness

Remote / Virtual Consultations:

  • Pre-Treatment Consultations will be conducted remotely to discuss what treatment is required

  • You will be asked to complete and return a “COVID-19 Consent Form” and a “Pre-Appointment Wellness Screening Checklist” (in addition to the usual consent forms)

  • Please download the government issued NHS Covid Contact Tracing App on your phone

Appointments:

  • Appointments are scheduled so that there is no waiting time and no contact with other people

  • Please arrive on time – cleaning requirements means that we won’t be able to do your treatment if you are late

  • Please wait in the car if you are early

  • Please attend alone. Any person accompanying you will be asked to wait in the car

  • Please do not wear make-up – we would need to re-schedule the appointment

  • Please do not bring belongings into the clinic other than your phone / handbag

  • Please scan the QR code on arrival to the clinic for contact tracing purposes

On Arrival at the Clinic:

  • The “Pre-Appointment Wellness Screening Checklist” will be repeated to check for symptoms / signs of COVID-19

  • You will be given a mask, and asked to sanitize your hands with Alcohol Gel

  • 2m Social Distancing will be in place at all times except for the actual treatment

  • Unfortunately, there will be no toilet facilities available

Treatment:

  • We try to restrict the treatment / “contact time” to less than 15 minutes

  • You will be taken straight into the clinic and asked to lie down on the treatment couch

  • Please do not talk during the actual treatment / “contact time” to minimize the risk of spreading COVID-19. This is really important to prevent infection

After Treatment:

  • You will be asked to sanitize your hands again

  • PPE can be disposed off in the dedicated waste bin

Payment:

  • Following consultation / treatment, please make your payment with a credit or debit card (Zettle by PayPal).

Cleaning:

  • There is a strict Cleaning Regimen in place to protect everyone from catching or spreading COVID-19

  • As much equipment, furniture and paperwork has been removed from the Clinic

  • Before and After each Treatment – surfaces and equipment are disinfected with a solution of Sodium Hypochlorite (1000ppm av.cl) or cleaned with alcohol

  • The room is ventilated for a minimum of 20 minutes in between patients

  • PPE is removed and disposed off in keeping with PHE guidance

  • Hand washing follows PHE guidance

Clinically Vulnerable Group:

  • Patients in the clinically vulnerable group are advised to defer their appointments or treatments, in line with Government advice. This includes people:

  • Aged over 70 years

  • With chronic respiratory disease, heart disease, kidney disease, liver disease, some neurological conditions, diabetes, hypertension, obesity

  • People with a weakened immune system or undergoing cancer treatments

Dermal Fillers

There have been a few reports of inflammatory reactions developing after Covid infection and also after receiving the Covid-19 vaccination. Guidance recommends that Dermal Filler treatment is deferred for 3 weeks after your Covid Vaccination, and should not be given in the 2 weeks before your vaccine.
